Social media management for senior living

A pretty feed won't tell a daughter if Mom will be happy here.

Real moments, helpful answers and a clear picture of daily life can. We turn your team's everyday work into thoughtful social content that gives families confidence to ask questions and book a tour, without turning your staff into full-time creators.

Families are not looking for another generic 'Happy Tuesday' post.

They're trying to imagine one of the hardest changes in their family's life: Who will greet Dad? Will someone notice when Mom has a bad day? Will staff communicate when something changes? A feed of stock smiles doesn't answer any of that.

When your posts avoid the questions families care about, social becomes an internal activity instead of a source of confidence. The team sees engagement; admissions still hears, 'Can you tell me what it's really like there?'

Show the life people would actually be choosing.

1. Make the people visible.

Introduce staff, their responsibilities and the routines that make residents feel known. Use short interviews and truthful, specific details, always with consent.

2. Answer the awkward questions.

Explain activities, mealtimes, family visits, the inquiry process and what families should ask on a tour. Don't publish private care information or make claims your clinical team can't support.

3. Make the next step obvious.

Give interested families a useful route to a tour request, call or care-options conversation. Keep the link, message routing and follow-up clear.

The work behind a feed worth following.

Content positioning: Audit competitor pages, family questions, past posts and admissions objections. Decide what each channel needs to prove.

Editorial plan: A monthly calendar balancing resident life (with permission), team stories, practical family guidance, events, community FAQs and direct inquiry posts.

Production system: Shot lists, filming prompts, lightweight staff interviews, editing guidance and accessible captions. We can work with approved client-supplied content or scope onsite production separately.

Publishing: Write, design, schedule and quality-check approved content for agreed channels such as Facebook and Instagram.

Community management: Monitor comments and messages within agreed hours, answer nonclinical questions using approved responses and send care or complaint issues to the right person.

Conversion tracking: Use tracked tour links, website forms, call-source notes and CRM stages where available. Social influence can be indirect, so we won't pretend every move-in has one neat attribution label.

Monthly report: What made families ask questions? Which topics drove website visits or inquiries? What should we stop posting?

What to post when trust matters more than reach.

People and culture: Meet the activities coordinator; what a new resident's first week can look like; how families stay in touch.

Everyday life: A real menu explanation; a community event recap; what an ordinary Wednesday looks like. Never stage resident experiences as universal guarantees.

Helpful decision-making: Assisted living versus memory care; questions to bring to a tour; how to compare what is and is not included in pricing.

Local connection: Nearby organizations, community partnerships and events that are genuinely relevant to prospective residents and families.

Admissions clarity: What happens after a family fills out the form; how long a tour takes; whom they can ask about care-level fit.

Three illustrative situations

The situations below are examples of how the service would work, not Nommow client case studies.

Scenario 1: A busy community has two months of event photos and no useful information.

We keep the human moments but add short staff introductions, tour-prep questions and posts that explain the daily routines behind them. Success means more informed conversations with admissions, not just prettier tiles.

Scenario 2: A family hesitates because the feed feels staged.

We replace generic stock imagery with consented, candid moments and specific descriptions of how the community works. We never promise a perfect experience or invent resident voices.

Scenario 3: Posts get reactions, but inquiries vanish in direct messages.

We define response ownership, set approved replies for standard questions and route requests to the right admissions contact with traceable links. Staff can still handle sensitive conversations privately.

Not every like matters. Some questions do.

Leading indicators: Helpful-content saves and shares, relevant profile visits, link clicks, direct-message questions and tour-page visits.

Business indicators: Qualified inquiries, tours requested, tours completed and move-ins influenced where your CRM can reasonably track them.

Quality controls: Response times, accuracy of public information, permissions and the proportion of posts with a clear purpose.

How it works

Week 1: We review channels, existing assets, approval rules and admissions questions.

Week 2: We agree on positioning, content pillars, a capture plan and the first calendar.

Weeks 3–4: We publish approved posts, test calls to action and establish inquiry routing.

Each month: We review what families responded to, refresh the calendar and improve the path from content to conversation.

We care what happens after someone sees the post.

Nommow grew from a search and content agency. Our job is to connect channels to the next decision a potential customer makes. For senior living, that means earning enough trust for a family to visit, not giving you a report full of applause.

We will not claim senior living clients, occupancy gains or testimonials we cannot verify. Ask to see our process, sample calendar and how we would measure the work.

09 / Senior living social media

A scope built around your community, not a mysterious posting package.

Get a quote. Scope depends on the number of communities, channels, posting frequency, content-production needs and who manages incoming messages. We define deliverables and approvals before work begins.

Faq

Can you work with photos and videos our staff already take?

Yes, once we have permission to use the material. We supply simple capture prompts so busy teams know what is useful without creating extra meetings.

Will you handle negative comments?

We can triage and coordinate approved public replies. Sensitive, medical or personal issues must move to the appropriate private channel and designated manager.

Do you guarantee tours from social media?

No. We can improve the quality and consistency of content and the inquiry path; results also depend on location, reputation, pricing, availability and how admissions follows up.

Should we use Facebook, Instagram or TikTok?

We start where your families and referral sources already pay attention and where your team can supply authentic material. We don't recommend every channel by default.
